Zero Turn Mower Serial Number Plate Location. Facing the front of the zero turn mower, the serial number plate is located on the left hand side. The plate is attached to the frame about mid way and is normally above the discharge chute. Sometimes the plate will be under the gas tank. The S75x is the exception to this. The unit engine was most likely put on a 1988 version of the snapper mower. I have seen several references to the 1989 version of the 25066, so I pretty sure That Yours was made for the 1988 Model Year. It was Easy to track down Not that I have all the information that I asked for including the model and serial number of.
If you do need one however just locate the proper manual in the Snapper RER manuals Sticky located in the group of stickies at the start of the Snapper forum to find the part # for your switch. I think that RER's did not have lights installed from the factory. So a less complicated switch was needed for only ignition & starter duties. I would check TSC just to see if a generic switch is available for your purpose. I would also check the wiring/connectors to your old switch first before deeming the switch as trash. Corrosion can cause a lot of problems in wiring as well as connectors. HOPE THIS HELPS.
I have all the manuals already (Great resource by the way) and the switch was a re-wiring hack job that was more complicated than the average car. I took it off and it had a melted terminal location and an interesting rattling noise coming from the switch itself It also had a 20 amp in line fuse and it's only suppose to have a 7.5. The switch is only suppose to be a 3 terminal block (With electric start part# 1-8816) and located under the steering. This one was relocated under the seat in the cover for the electrical area (relay, safety switches etc.) and looked like spaghetti. Oh well, at least I know she runs and hopefully a rewire will take care of the ailment! You can't have everything, where would you put it?
Since you have the parts list, refer to page 6.2,or 26,the 7018816,is listed for series,6-11,there are also some aftermarket switches available, such as Oregon33-391,and some others.Snapper also shows a, starter switch harness,7018819,already with a connector, and correct length.and color wires, the fuse holder(without fuse)#7015428. If you want to wire it yourself, the page should show the connections, the switch should ground itself through the case, with no ground wire necessary,if it makes a good connection. The connections should be marked,B for battery, should connect, with the 'fuse holder' to the 'hot' side of the starter'solenoid' or relay,'M',the ground for the off position(kill wire for the mag.,and 'S' which should connect the 'start' position to the small contact on the 'solenoid'. You can't have everything, where would you put it? I re-powered my MW280921B,a 9HP manual start Briggs, with a 13HP, Honda GXV 390,which had electric start, and as I had a lot of parts to order,to finish. I bought the Snapper harness, and switch, for a 331323HVE,which was a Honda powered factory model. I probably could have made the wiring myself, but I saved a little time, and it looks 'factory'. The earlier electric start harness, for series 6-11 is now P/N 7018849,and is priced from $15.95,on a couple of the 'high price'vendors,to one on e-bay for $7.95.
