I was surprised it came with a fork lockout, as that really was awesome considering our first ride together was just the local paved bike trail. The frame is really solid and I think the only thing I'll do it swap over my RaceFace crank & Weyless front end, maybe get another set of wheels with some more street appropriate tires for the days I'll be riding the local bike paths.

Oh, and possibly a fork upgrade or kit. Depends on how much trail riding I actually do.

I havent bought a Nishiki from ***** but I did but a 2010 Diamondback Response from them with simlar low end specs such as Shimano Altus/ Alivio.SR suntour XCT forks etc. Those bikes actually ride really nice.a little heavy because of the lower end component spec but I never broke my Diamondback.it still lives on to this day its my baby hauler now.I have moved to nicer bikes since then but there is nothing wrong with that Nishiki. If i was you I would ditch the Suntour boat anchor fork.youll drop over 2 lbs there and get some lighter tires.this will drop over 3 lbs from the bike and itll accelerate better and your bump compliance will improve as well with a better damped fork.
