I purchased this before christmas and never used it, gave it to my daughter to use on vacation and she loves it and I saw the videos that she made and there is no shaking, the pictures are crisp and clear and the sound is good. I purchased memory cards with alot of storage on each so all she has to do is pop it into the computer or blue-ray and we can watch videos of her vacation. I am glad that I bought this item and would recommend it to others. It is small and easy to carry and use!! No one is saying it is MP4 files I have used this camera a great deal, and yes the pic quality is not good, but my biggest gripe is the files types are in MP4 format and NOT compatable with Microsoft Media Player or Movie Maker, which need files as WMVs.

I have tried converting them with software but the pics quality gets worse. I have tons of clips, and really no way to make a movie or put them together. I would need an apple computer to do this. The camera comes with software to help make some clips but it is extremly limited.

I bought this for my husband who loves to shoot video. He fell in love with it. The greatest thing is the 16GB memory and no need for Cd's or tapes you just hook up and upload to internet or burn to DVD. The picture quality is great as well.

As far as lighting goes it works well. My son performed in a concert band at school the room was dark except the stage where all the lights were at I zoom in and got a great video as if I was right in the front row. Simplicity In a Small Package I bought this camcorder for my husband as a Christmas gift. He's had several camcorders over the years, and in fact he had a more complicated model which was still quite new, which we gave to our son to use for his new baby. This camcorder (according to my husband) is extremely easy to use and would be great for a first time camcorder user or a more experienced user. The picture is crisp and vibrant and the sound quality is great as well. I've transferred the video onto my computer, which is very easy to do (I didn't even use the included software, just drag and drop it where you want it to go.) The docking cradle is very convenient to use. This was a good buy, don't hesitate to give it a try.
