Introduction After reviewing Palo Alto (KPAO) & San Carlos (KSQL) we couldn’t let this one pass and we contacted Flightbeam Studios right away. Flightbeam Studios has a great reputation for delivering high quality airport sceneries with great performance. I already own their legacy KSFO scenery and Washington Dulles scenery, and I’m very satisfied about both. So I was very curious what have been improved. So we really needed our hands on KSFO HD.
This is not just an updated version no! Flightbeam studios werent happy with it for todays standards and it was out of date so decided in stead of updating, to rebuild it completely from scratch. A few facts San Francisco international airport has the IATA code SFO and ICAO code KSFO. It’s a large international airport with a Class B Airspace located at the bay area.
It’s the second busiest airport in California right after Los Angeles International airport. That’s no wonder cause it’s a hub for United Airlines and Virgin America. It is the 7th busiest airport in the United States according to statistics from 2014 and is a gateway for many transpacific flights. KSFO has 2 International terminals and 3 regular terminals and 3 cargo ramps;south cargo, mid field cargo and north cargo. Well known for it’s world famous parallel landings KSFO has 4 runways oriented 10L/28R is 11,870 ft, runs parallel to 10R/28L which is 11,381 ft and 1R/19L is 8,650 ft which runs parallel with 1L/19R and is 7,650 ft long. Having a look at the aerial picture will make his more clearly.
Installation The airport can only be bought from the official Flightbeam studios store, surprisingly it’s cheaper than the other airports and sales for only EUR 29,12 and the other airports for EUR 33,00. You’ll get an extra 10% off if you are a current KSFO Legacy customer. Fortunately Flightbeam Sudios were so nice to grant us a review copy. There is only 1 installer, which is compatible with FSX, FSX:SE and Prepar3D. For new customers the free trail contains the complete product but you activate the full scenery by entering the key later on. The download is 160 MB in size and takes about 394 MB of your flightsim installation. Installation is similar like FSdreamteam’s software, that’s because FSdreamteam develops the installers for Flightbeam.
After the installation is complete you’ll have to navigate to your add on manager inside your FSX/P3D menu and insert the code which was sent earlier via e-mail. As usual there is no airport configurator included which would be useful for people with low end systems to untick some options Manual Don’t bother looking for a PDF all over your flightbeam folder, cause you simply won’t find one. Instead of delevering a manual with the installer you can get the manual from their site. A section where most developers trip, is to deliver a fully featured manual. And yes even flightbeam Studies doesn’t succeed in that. Here’s list of what’s covered in the manual.
• History • Airport overview • Activation details • Recommended settings • Credits One very important basic topic i miss in the manual are the airport diagrams and the charts, maybe they can update their online PDF later. But for every virtual pilot that takes his hobby to the next level this is quite a miss. The airport And finally I can talk about the airport, Well you can take it from me a lot has been improved. Truth be told the legacy version was nowhere near the quality compared to their Denver and Washington Dulles airport, but this new version tops them all.
When first booted at the airport I placed myself at a random gate and started for a sightseeing tour around the airport with my old trusty friend BOB from FTX. What struck me immediately was how high the FPS were, I was topping 90 FPS. The terminals are modeled with an outstanding quality they got a nice sharp texture on them and the windows are see through. The International terminals A & G Amazing modeling and textures on the terminal buildings The ramp and terminals are all populated with equipment, cars and trucks. There a few animated cars driving around the airport too.
The only thing missing are some catering trucks and cargo loaders would be nice to see as well. You can call me spoiled by Flytampa and Orbx for using animated people/groundcrew but some static ground crew would make the airport feel even more alive. Never the less Flightbeam studios did a great job on this part of the airport. The taxiways and runway textures have a great quality and look amazing on even lower texture resolutions. I always set my texture resolution to 1024 to keep the VAS usage as low as possible.
Argus Developer Keygen Photoshop. All signs and ground markings are all there on the correct spot. High quality ground textures even on 1024 texture resolution As mentioned earlier KSFO has 3 cargo ramps as well, all beautifully remodeled with the same level of detail as the terminals.
United airlines has it one and only maintenance hanger here, and is really big as you can see from the screenshots. North cargo South cargo Midfield cargo Flightbeam Studios also remodeled some buildings nearby the airport like parking garage and the US Coast guard building which is located between the General Aviation parkings and the north cargo. A very nice detail was to add static GA aircrafts here some of them might look a bit odd up close cause they have static shadows, but only reviewers do that 🙂. The superbay Hangar Static aircrafts on the GA parking spots United’s maintenance and technical support US Coast Guard building, located between the GA parking and the North cargo. And when the sun goes down The lights go on, and it is BEAUTIFUL. The runway and taxilights look very realistic and not too bright like some other airport addons.
And so goes for all the night lighting at the airport, have a look at bottom screenshots. List of features • ALL-NEW, completely re-done from the ground up. • Stunning 2048×2048 High Definition textures throughout airport • Completely updated, including new ATC tower, new Boarding E building and more! • Completely custom ultra realistic see through windows with dirt, reflections and smudges • Custom animated vehicles • 3d grass throughout airport • Animated, dynamic jetways that attach to your aircraft • Detailed highway overpasses covering US-101 and I380 highway interchanges • Special environmental effects such as water puddles and lamp glows • High tech optimization for best performance Compatibility No incompatibilities were found with any 3 rd party add ons.
As usual with Flightbeam & Fsdreameam products the gates are animated by pressing ctrl+J and obviously fully GSX compatible with the correct parking positions. Performance Performance was great all the time with FPS never dropping below 30 FPS in any of the VC of my PMDG 777/737. With my settings carefully set I still had 900 MB free of VAS with the aircraft on final.
My P3D settings can be found “”. My system specs: Intel I7 6700K overclocked to 5ghz 16 GB DDR4 memory 2x GTX 980 in SLI Windows 10 x64 pro P3D very minimal tweaked with a custom Nvidia Inspector profile Conclusion Why are you still reading this?
Go to the site and buy it already. If you think the current version is good enough already you will be amazed by this new version. It has lots of new features and has very minimal impact on FPS even with payware aircrafts. The San Francisco Bay area has got quite the attention this year that’s for sure. This is with no doubt Flightbeam Studios best airport so far View of the new torch Tower.
The scenery is offered in two versions sold separately, one for FS2004 and another for FSX. San Francisco International airport is the second most important in California and the entire west coast of the United States. Non-stop flights link it to every major city on North America and to the most important international hubs in Europe, Asia and the South Pacific. BluePrint Simulations’ scenery depicts SFO as it exists in the winter of 2014-2015. It includes accurate renditions of the new concourse E and the new air traffic control tower. It also incorporates recent changes to the runways and taxiway layout implemented in compliance with current federal runway safety regulations.
BluePrint Simulations’ SFO scenery includes the airport’s four terminals, one international and three domestic. The international terminal features spacious departure/arrivals facilities and two concourses, A and G. Concourse G functions as the international part of United Airlines SFO hub. Several Star Alliance members and other UAL’s international partners also use concourse G while all other international carriers use concourse A. Some domestic airlines including Alaska, JetBlue and Virgin America also use concourse A for the arrival of their international flights. Terminal 1 is SFO’s oldest and construction of the new international terminal required demolition of one of its three concourses. The airport’s modernization plan calls for a new, state-of-the-art facility to take its place within the next five years.
In the meantime, Southwest and Delta occupy its two remaining concourses, B and C respectively. Until recently, Terminal 2 was SFO’s international terminal.
A comprehensive modernization project included the full replacement of its single concourse. The new concourse D entered operations in 2010. The same project calls for the complete removal within the next two years of the old air traffic control tower and the office building that were part of the original structure. Terminal 2 is now shared by American Airlines and Virgin America, serving as the latter’s most important hub. Terminal 3 and its two concourses, E and F, make up United Airlines’ main hub on the west coast.
A new, state-of-the-art concourse E entered operations in 2012 as part of the ongoing modernization project that also includes major refurbishment of the terminal’s departure/arrival facilities. BluePrint Simulations’ scenery also includes the new air traffic control tower due for completion in 2015. The new structure is architecturally unique and undoubtedly destined to become SFO’s main icon in the very near future. • Custom-made, optimized and fully three-dimensional Gmax models of the entire facility including: • Four passenger terminals and seven concourses including the newest E • The new ATC tower • Accurately located aircraft parking positions around every concourse and individually customized static jetways at every gate.
Great customer service by the developer. I had a problem getting the scenery to work in P3Dv4 and the developer was immediately on it. He spent several hours with me diagnosing the problem. Very professional. As far as the scenery goes, you have to max out the autogen sliders to extremely dense to get the scenery to fully fill in.
This is not a problem with FPS because it's a island. Islands don't have to load as much data in comparison to a place like Los Angeles. It blends well with Taxi2gate's TKPK airport and actually adds much needed night street lights to the terrain next to the airport as Taxi2gate's TKPK is not fully ready for P3Dv4 and is missing lights.
Pros-: Lights actually sit on lamp posts not just floating orbs. Photo scenery adds more realism to the mountain terrain. Custo- m Night lights are small and bloom/shimmer very well with bloom effect enabled. Price is right on. Cons: N- ot fully compatible with Orbx FTX Global in P3Dv4(Developer is investigating).- My only suggestion to the developer is to push the clarity in the photo scenery a little further to stay competitive with P3Dv4 customers. We no longer have to worry about OOMs with 64-bit simulators.
I love this scenery, although I have had elevation compatibility issues with the combination of ORBX and Drzewiecki Designs' Seattle Airports X. After many hours of frustrated attempts to work these problems out on my own, I've managed to get issues down to a few elevation issues around the border of the airport, as well as a few houses near the airport floating several feet (40-50ft) above the ground. I have not contacted tech support.
The scenery is very accurate for the most part. There are some 'colored' taxiway lines (blue and green if I remember coreectly) near the north cargo facility/termin- al area (near Spot 55) that are missing. Free Download Whatsapp Plus For Blackberry Curve 9220 on this page. These taxiways facilitate the movement of aircraft around this complex. I fly through KSEA from time to time in my job as a pilot with American Airlines. I really enjoy flying to/from KSEA in real life. This scenery really gives you the sense of being there. If you purchase this scenery and own both ORBX Vector and Drzewiecki Designs' Seattle Airports X, be prepared to contact tech support for help.
